Refund policy
Development time cannot be un-spent, so this policy draws a clear line: hours already worked are not refundable, and hours you paid for but never used are. Here is exactly how that works for each arrangement.
The principle
You are buying reserved capacity and logged time. Once an hour has been worked and reported it is not refundable, because it cannot be resold. Any hour you have paid for and I have not worked is refundable under the rules below, less any transaction costs already incurred.
Hourly blocks
- Before work begins: cancel within 48 hours of payment and before I have started, and you get a full refund.
- After work begins: hours logged are billed at $30/hour; the unused balance of the 40-hour block is refunded in full on request.
- Unused hours never expire — you can keep them on account indefinitely instead of taking a refund.
Monthly retainer
- The month is invoiced in advance because the 160 hours are reserved for you and turned away from others.
- Cancel before the month starts: full refund.
- Cancel mid-month: hours logged are billed at the hourly rate of $30/hour — the retainer discount is tied to the full month — and the remaining balance is refunded.
- Retainer hours do not roll into the next month; unused capacity in a completed month is not refundable.
- Ending a retainer needs 14 days' written notice before the next billing date.
Quarterly subscription
- The quarter is a three-month commitment; the $20/hour rate exists in exchange for it.
- Cancel before the term starts: full refund.
- Cancel mid-term: hours logged are re-rated to $25/hour (the monthly rate), the difference is deducted, and the remaining prepaid balance is refunded.
- Unused hours roll between the three months of the term, but not past its end.
When a refund is not available
No refund is due for: hours already logged and reported; work you asked for and then decided against; delays caused by access, content or approvals not arriving from your side; third-party costs already spent on your behalf (licences, hosting, stock assets); or a change of mind about a completed deliverable that matches what was agreed.
Where work is paused because your account is overdue, the reserved capacity is still chargeable.
If something is wrong with the work
Tell me first — most problems are quicker to fix than to argue about. Defects in my own work are corrected free of charge for 30 days after delivery, as set out in the terms and conditions. If a fix genuinely is not possible, I will refund the hours logged on the defective work rather than charge for it.
How to request a refund
Email raunak@rkweb.dev with your invoice number and what you would like refunded. I will reply with the time log and the calculation within 3 working days, and approved refunds are issued within 10 working days to the original payment method.
Refunds are made in US dollars for the amount received. Currency movement, bank charges and payment-processor fees are not reimbursed, since they were never mine to keep.
Chargebacks
Please raise a dispute with me before your bank. A chargeback filed without contacting me first will be contested with the time log and correspondence, and I may pause all work on your account until it is resolved.
